Sri Swamiji's Jayanti Satsang at Padhuka Dham, Boston

12th Nov 2012

A special satsang was conducted at ‘Paduka Dham’ (the Home of the Divine Padukas of Sri Swamiji) at Boston, MA in connection with Sri Swamiji’s Jayanti Day and Deepavali on the evening of the 12th of November, 2012 in the presence of Sri Ramanujamji, senior disciple of Sri Sri Swamiji.

The evening started with kids from the Gopa Kuteeram singing rhyme songs on Nama taught in the regular classes. This was followed by Madhura Gitam by the ladies of the satsang.

Following this, the ‘Naraka Hara Chaturdashi’ was celebrated by recounting the slaying of Narakasura by Lord Krishna. This episode from Srimad Bhagavatam was briefly outlined and the pertinent verses were recited by one and all gathered. Then Sri Ramanujamji did a beautiful ‘Madhura Smrithi’ talk. Narrating the need for celebrating the descent of Mahatmas, he spoke about the birth and early life of our Guru Maharaj and various different activities that are undertaken with his guidance – from Veda Patashalas to Nama Pracharam. Sri Ramanujamji spoke on the extraordinary power of Mahans – in controlling destiny and showering causeless mercy. He gave instances from his experiences with Guru Maharaj to show how they have the will and power to change anything and everything in a split second and how their causeless compassion protects anyone and everyone under His refuge.

The satsang ended with Mahamantra kirtan prayers, Harthi and dinner prasad. About 70 devotees, including 30+ kids participated in the satsang.
