GOD Booth at Houston Janmashtami 2010 Fair

Houston G.O.D. satsang hosted a booth (for the third year in a row), on August 28th, at the 21st Annual Janmashtami Celebrations in Houston that is organized every year by Hindus of Greater Houston. The G.O.D. booth was decorated beautifully and showcased the Houston Namadwaar prayer house. As in the past two years, a “Chant and Win” Mahamantra raffle contest was held that attracted over 200 visitors to the booth. Interested participants’ names were entered into a raffle drawing if they chanted the Mahamantra at least once. Raffle drawings were held every hour and the winning gift bags included T-shirts, books and CDs.

A separate “Krishna Wheel” contest was held for younger visitors. Children were asked to spin a wheel that spelled K-R-I-S-H-N-A and depending on the letter it landed on, they were asked three trivia questions on Krishna in an increasing order of difficulty. Participants won candy, pencils, pens, crayons and squeeze toys depending on the number of questions they answered.

Flyers about Namadwaar and G.O.D. activities, and dry fruits prasad were distributed to all booth visitors.
